About
Amatullah Kapadia is a data engineer and writer whose career reflects grit, self-direction, and creative curiosity. Raised in India and later relocating to Canada at the age of 13, Amatullah developed an early adaptability that continues to shape her work across technology and creative spaces. She earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Engineering from University of Waterloo, where she built a strong foundation in analytical thinking, systems, and problem-solving. Although her undergraduate program did not lead directly to internships, Amatullah used that challenge as momentum. Entirely self-taught in programming and data engineering, she leveraged the logic and structure of engineering to teach herself how to work with large-scale data systems. This persistence helped her break into the tech industry—first working in oil and gas, then transitioning into big tech roles at Accenture and later Amazon. Now based in Houston, Amatullah works as a data engineer, bringing both technical rigor and thoughtful intention to her work. She defines success as peace of mind—doing work she’s proud of while meeting her own standards rather than external expectations. Her career is a testament to persistence, adaptability, and lifelong learning.
